Region’s Bike Race Saturday, March 5, 2011, 8:00 a.m. The Downtown area is also hosting the fifth annual Region’s Bike Race. The time trial criteriums start at 8 am, in front of the city/county office building on Pine, just one block from the Mardi Gras festivities. The last leg of the marathon route will allow an up-close look at cyclist competing in a fast-paced criterion. Click here for more. Rock, Roll and RUN in Downtown Albany! Marathon weekend provides plenty of action and activities for downtown Albany. A Free Admission ticket will be given to each participating runner, walker or wheeler in their registration packet. Mardi Gras is an all day event that kicks off in downtown at noon and features bands until midnight. Vendors, crafters, etc.
